My advice: have some euros with you to pay and try to watch others use the machine before you go and try, I think the fare is between 3-4 euros per person per economy class ticket to centraal station. I know it seems natural to people who use it all of the time but we got little assistance from others there - if there was a window to buy tickets from a human, I didnt see one.Īlso, I think some of the machines were in dutch only? We also got on the train and sat in first class - what luxury! We were quickly told to move to economy. Then we were able to figure out which machine in the "lobby" would take cash, none of these machines would take my credit card either even though it said it would. We tried the machines at the luggage claim right before customs, they didnt want out cash or credit cards. economy class (without explination - you want the economy fare), and the machines would not take my credit card (visa), luckily we had euros from a friend who had recently been to spain so we were able to pay in cash. ![]() ![]() ![]() You know, as a transit planner, and a regular public transit user, i thought I would be able to handle the train to the city very easily but there were a few things that confused us like first class v.
